Kohlby Jo was nominated by one of her peers for being so helpful in dance classes.  She is 9 years old and is in the 3rd/4th grade home schooled.  Kohlby has two very loving parents, Steve and Dayna along with a sister, Shaylyn and a brother, Jayson.  Kohlby Jo has 9 pets: 2 horses, Star & Rosa, 2 goats, Indigo & Suzie, 3 dogs Bella, LuLu & Tilly and 2 cats, Tinkerbelle & Snickers.   Kohlby Jo started dancing at a year old.   In our 2007 Holiday recital, Kohlby Jo did a lyrical solo as Little Clara.  She takes tap, jazz, ballet, hip hop, clogging, lyrical, song & dance, cheer and cannot wait to start pointe in January.   Kohlby Jo was a dancer of the year semi-finalist in Las Vegas and a national champion in hip hop, July 2007 at Dance America/dance Olympus.   Kohlby Jo also plays basketball.  Her other interests are: Horses, loves all animals, spending time with friends and annoying her brother.  One thing most people do not know about Kohlby Jo is: She used to be very shy and scared to perform on stage!  Beleive it or not...  She's outgrown that though.  Her mom and dad are vey proud of her accomplishments!

Hi Dayna,

 

I don't know why I have been the only one making nominations, except the one that was for me.  I know everyone has noticed all the neat kids you have taking lessons from you and how talented they are.  Anyway, I want to make another nomination.  This one I have been wanting to nominate every month, but wanted to give others a chance first because I knew she was dancer of the month at the Lynnwood studio last year.  I want to nominate Kohlby Jo Sayler. I saw her helping you teach the Mini Stars preschool class just before my hip hop class (she let me help a little too), but she was sooo great with the little kids and so helpful.  She also helps bigger kids learn their part in the Party Scene dance.  She's already got a good start at being a great dance teacher like you and Shaylynn.  As everyone knows from watching her, Kohlby Jo is a fabulous dancer in every style of dance.  She's only 9, like me, but she has won so many awards already, like in Las Vegas this last summer she won 1st Place National Primary Hip Hop Champion, a scholarship at the last Dupree convention where she also won at least three Gold awards in competition, a scholarship at Monsters of Hip Hop, and I know she's won more.  Wow!!!  Even before I knew Kohlby Jo personally, just from seeing her at Dupree, I was impressed by her dance skills.  Now I also know Kohlby Jo not only as a dancer, but as one of my most best friends because she is always so fun and she's sweet to everyone, in class and out, and to animals and adults.  She is just so fun, lovable and cute.  KJ Rocks!
